KIRKPATRICK ELEMENTARY
ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROGRAM
2011-12
Program Coordinator: Ann Harland Webster
School has started and it is time to plan our events for
Kirkpatrick for 2011-12 year! I find it hard to believe that we are entering
our 5th year (I think!) in partnership with our neighborhood school! I
believe we have all been blessed by this important ministry and am thankful
we have this opportunity to support these children and teachers in some
small way! You can help in the following ways:
Supplies for Students: During the month of September we
will collect school supplies for teachers to have on hand when students need
them. They suggest primarily pencils and notebook paper...but ANYTHING you
find in the school supply section at Kroger, Walmart, etc. would probably be
useful for students or teachers! I will have two colorful crates at the
church near fellowship hall and Sanctuary for collection!
Treats for teachers (September - May): Put a cake,
cookies, etc. in the teacher's lounge. Can be "deli" made or homemade...does
not matter! Just let me know when you can.
Achievement Celebrations: Our first is October 26. We will
do CUPCAKES since I got off schedule last year! Ha! I will send out a
reminder for help closer to time. Other celebrations will probably be in
February and April.
Read to a class: Teachers like to have outside adults come
in to read to their classes. Carole Mangrem and Rachel Tackett have been
very faithful in this. Let me know if you want to do this...or contact
SuzAnne Walton, Principal directly to set it up!
Victory Luncheon for Teachers and Staff (May)...to
celebrate a winning school year! More later on this! It is always lovely
and much appreciated by all!!!!
And, if you can't be involved but you want to donate money toward any of the
above activities, please let me know.
I also welcome any NEW ideas for how we might strengthen our partnership
with Kirkpatrick!
Thanks!
Ann Harland
